Los Santos keeps two clocks: the official one, and the one set by the people who know where the money and the evening are going. The second clock runs fast, skips hours, and occasionally rewrites the week.

For our annual Heat Index, Envy followed the signals rather than the noise. We looked for the invitation forwarded without context, the car everyone recognizes but nobody names, and the small rooms creating consequences far beyond their capacity.

Influence is not possession. It is the ability to point a crowded room in one direction.

What emerged was not a ranking of visibility. It was a study in gravity. The names in this issue pull attention toward them because they understand that influence is not possession. It is direction.

Some build heat through spectacle. Others use scarcity, competence, or the simple terror of being remembered accurately. All of them understand that Los Santos follows confidence long before it checks credentials.

The list will be argued over, denied, and quietly forwarded. That is how we know the temperature is correct.
